Anne Grace Mutambu who was the 1st runner-up during the Miss Zimbabwe pageant in April has taken the Miss Zimbabwe 2015 Crown from current Queen Emily Kachote, who was stripped of the title after her nude photos were leaked on Whatsapp.

Zimbabwe is among the very few African countries that are contesting for Miss World beauty pageant this year. South Africa has already chosen its 2015 Miss World representative as well as Gabon, a country in West Africa. So all in all, only three African countries have held their national pageants so far.

However, the initial Miss Zimbabwe 2015 who was chosen on 27 April this year has been stripped of her crown after an investigation revealed that she broke the rules that beauty contestants are required to abide with.

The 25-year old Miss Emily Kachote was stripped of her crown after her ex-boyfriend revealed her nude photos on whatsapp. One observer said that it’s not surprising because all beauty pageants have the same rules, among which prohibits participants from posing for nude pictures or being pregnant while partaking in the event.

The young woman’s dream of going to China to hit the ramp with girls from other countries was shattered by her ex-boyfriend who exposed her nude pictures, but as a contestant, Emily Kachote must have been aware of the rules and it is certain that she was briefed about the rules before signing an agreement under oath to take part in the contest.

The Miss Zimbabwe beauty pageant was hit by the same troubles in 2014 when another beauty queen Thabiso Phiri was disqualified and stripped of her crown for posing in nude photos.

The Miss Zimbabwe organizers have issued a statement confirming that the initial Miss Zimbabwe had her title stripped for breaking the pageant rules after her nude photos which were posted last year went viral on Whatsapp. The organizers said that contestants who plan to enter the pageant must not have a scandalous history that includes engaging in nude photography, sexual misconduct or any type of unprofessional behavior that is deemed immoral.

The Miss Zimbabwe Trust adds that the girls should not have a boyfriend or engage in sexual activities while participating in the pageant. Once a participant is embroiled in controversial activities that violate the rules, she is certain to be disqualified or dethroned.

When the reigning Queen is dethroned, the crown is given to the First Princess. Emily Kachote has surrendered the crown to Anne Grace Mutambu who was the First Princess. It seems a lot of Zimbabweans on social media were not satisfied with the initial choice, with negative reviews of Emily Kachote spilling everywhere, but it seems there are a lot of positive reviews for Anne Grace who seems to be a crowd favorite.

Emily Kachote might have lost a chance to represent Zimbabwe on the grand stage, but there is no doubt that she is a pretty lady with brains. The lady is a Financial Advisor with a Degree in Psychology. She admits that her nude pictures were posted on Whatsapp last year, and that it’s been over a year since she was in contact with her ex-boyfriend .All along, she thought that the pictures might surface, and praying for them to disappear.

The 2015 Miss World event will be held in the city of Sanya in China at the end of this year.

So far, the only African countries that have held their Miss World National pageants for 2015 are South Africa, Zimbabwe and Gabon. A few other African countries are expected to join this year’s Miss World event as time progresses.

The winner of Miss Gabon 2015 is an 18 year old girl, named Reine Ngotala. This young African beauty who comes from the French speaking country of Gabon has also won the local Miss Nyanga pageant, a city in which she lives.

The winner of the beauty contest was announced on 26 April, at Hotel Residence in the city of Libreville.Reine Ngotala takes the title of Queen from last year’s reining beauty Maggaly Nguema.

There is still hope for runner-ups and other finalists in the top 10, because the Miss Gabon organizers are planning to take part in several international beauty contests. However, the winning Finalist of the national pageant (Reine Ngotala) is an obvious choice to be sent to the prestigious Miss World pageant, as well as the Miss Universe pageant.

Judging by the quality of photo shoots, stage lighting, glitz and glamour, anybody can tell that the organizers were enthusiastic about hosting the event, and they left no stone unturned to ensure that this was going to be a bright night for guests and journalists.

In case you don’t know, French and Fang are the widely spoken languages in Gabon.

Well done Gabon!!!

Zimbabwean women are the type of beauties that men like George Clooney would want to marry because they are not only beautiful but they are brainy, sober-minded and well cultured. If a Zim woman is not good-looking, then she will have an education or culture to boast about .Among all the drop-dead gorgeous women in Hollywood that George Clooney met, he decided to settle down with an intelligent and reserved woman who happened to hold a top post at UNICEF.Of course, George is married to Amal Alamuddin, not Tendai Hunda, but Amal possesses the decent and brainy qualities of many Zimbabwean women.

Tendai Hunda is a pretty woman who represented Zimbabwe at the 2014 Miss World contest in the United Kingdom. Hers is a story of luck and miracles. She was nominated as a replacement at the last minute, after two reigning winners Thabiso Phiri and Catherine Makaya were consecutively dethroned and suspended from representing the country for fighting with the pageant organizers.

At the time of representing Miss Zimbabwe in the UK, Tendai Hunda was only 23 years, and she was studying for a Degree in Administration at the University of Zimbabwe. She says modeling has never been her career plan, because she is an academically-oriented person.

The beauty did not make it to the top 30, some critics on her Facebook Page blamed this on her makeup which was deemed way too over-the-top. But life goes on for this brainy beauty. She is focused on her academic career and a brighter future.

When Tendai is speaking, you cannot help but fall in love with her, she speaks with an original exotic African accent, not cheesy and no feigned American accent like most wannabes. Watch her on YouTube:

The winner of the Miss South Africa Beauty Pageant is a young and educated woman who also happens to have a kind heart and pretty face. Miss Liesl Laurie, 24 years old, became the 2015 Miss South winning finalist on 30 March 2015 beating contestants from other regions. Reactions from Twitter were mixed when the winner was announced, but as much as Liesl surprised some people who did not expect her to win, among them the leader of a political party, she also surprised many when it is was revealed that she comes from Eldorado Park, a township which is under-estimated and looked down by most people because of its social status.
Liesl Laurie is a shining star who brings hope and something positive to her township, Eldorado Park, a township in Johannesburg which is well known for high levels of crime and social ills such as drug dealing and unemployment.

Liesl is a student graduate from the University of Johannesburg in Soweto. After completing her  B.Comm Degree at the University of Johannesburg ,the coloured beauty took a one-year break from the campus and embarked on a full-time modeling career which also allowed her to get involved in NGO community projects that strive to improve the lives of children in Eldorado Park and the surrounding poverty-stricken informal settlements. Last year, she launched her own community project, the Pearl Project outreach programme, which seeks to motivate teenage girls through the hosting of workshops at schools around the location.
