A video of an Asian Chinese woman howling and barking at a black man on a public bus in San Francisco went viral on TikTok in November 2023. Apparently, according to the exchange between the two, the woman was fed up with the man playing “loud” music without headphones.

In the incidence which took place at the back of the bus, the woman who was holding a Hakka straw hat, can be seen howling like a dog at the man. She stands up and provokes the man in about seven instances, making dog noises in his direction, and prompting a response:

“Get the fuck out of my ear bitch”

The Chinese woman replies while continuing with the provocation:

“What are you going to do, beat me up?” “What’s that, what are you doing that everyone else can hear?”

However, the so-called loud music which the woman has an issue with, can barely be heard in the bus. She seems to be the loudest noise and annoyance in the bus with her howling and barking which attracts attention from passengers in the front seats.

Social media reacted to the video with mixed opinions and emotions based on demographic bias. Some lauded the “brave girl” for giving the man a taste of his medicine. Some made fun of her with comments like “She ate dog meat, that’s why she is barking”.
